Natec Medical Ltd, a Mauritius-based company specializing in the development of medical devices for minimally invasive surgeries and a subsidiary of the AVA group, marked its first participation in the Africa Health Exhibition 2024. Held from October 22 to 24 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the event provided Natec Medical with an opportunity to showcase its offerings and connect with key stakeholders in the African healthcare market.
Natec Medical’s booth attracted significant interest over the three-day exhibition, with a steady flow of visitors engaging with the team. Featured products included PTCA and PTA devices and the high-pressure balloon catheter Amethyst. These presentations facilitated discussions with distributors, hospital administrators, and public sector representatives, paving the way for potential collaborations.
“This event gave us an excellent opportunity to showcase our solutions and gather valuable insights into the specific needs of the African market,” said Shikha Goormany, Sales Manager at Natec Medical. “We established connections with key industry players and gained a deeper understanding of market trends and expectations, which will help us tailor our offerings to meet local demands.”
Discussions during the event highlighted the importance of early screening to reduce the prevalence of preventable diseases. For instance, in South Africa, approximately 51% of diseases could be avoided through early detection and screening, underscoring the relevance of Natec Medical’s solutions in improving public health outcomes across the continent.
Natec Medical’s participation aligns with AVA Group’s broader mission to promote sustainable development and innovation in the healthcare sector across Africa. By strengthening its presence in the region, Natec Medical aims to contribute to improving healthcare infrastructure and addressing public health challenges.
