Ingenia has successfully completed the acquisition of TWS, a proficient firm specializing in water treatment. The acquisition was carried out by Ingenia’s subsidiary, Chemco Ltd. TWS, previously a part of the Eiffage group and operating in Mauritius since 2003, focuses on hydraulic development. Ingenia, a conglomerate with a presence on the Mauritian stock market, caters to diverse industries by providing agricultural, industrial, and water management solutions to its valued clientele.
This acquisition allows the Harel Mallac group’s company to strengthen its Aqua division and expand its offering of innovative solutions. This activity was previously operated by the Eiffage group, one of the main European leaders in the construction market. “We are very pleased to add TWS to our entities,” says Yannis Fayd’herbe, Group Managing Director of Ingenia. “This acquisition illustrates our commitment to anticipating market needs for solutions compatible with environmental challenges. We share the same conviction with this company that sustainable water management is crucial for maintaining ecological, social, and economic balance in the territories where we operate.”
Chemco Ltd and Eiffage have a long history of collaboration. While further strengthening their strategic relationship, this acquisition opens new perspectives for Ingenia. “We bring with us a strong expertise in the design and construction of treatment units, reservoirs, and pumping systems,” explains Franck Cousin, Director of TWS. “Our combined technical expertise and expanded range of services and products will allow Ingenia to truly be a one-stop-shop capable of meeting the diverse needs of communities, businesses, and industries, thereby contributing to improved water management and environmental preservation.”
With the integration of TWS into its portfolio, Ingenia continues its strategy of external growth. While the group operates in water treatment and optimization, TWS specializes in the water cycle industry, including the installation of drinking or wastewater networks, pumping equipment, and civil engineering. “Our complementarities will create significant synergies and strategic advantages for Ingenia, enabling us to improve our performance, reduce risks, increase competitiveness, and expand our reach in the local and regional market,” rejoices the Managing Director of Ingenia, who is also present in Zambia and Tanzania, serving 17 African countries.
This acquisition allows Ingenia to reaffirm its ambition to place technological innovation and ecology at the heart of its activities. “The health of our planet, that of future generations, and our economic security will only be better if we respect its essential resources,” according to Yannis Fayd’herbe. “Our commitments will involve integrating the operations of the two companies to enable better water management, from transportation to disposal, including waste valorization,” he continues.
In addition to the water sector, Ingenia operates in the agriculture and industry sectors. Formerly known as MCFI, it redesigned its model a year ago and consolidated its entities under the same umbrella to create better synergies and facilitate the exchange of ideas in the search for ingenious solutions for its clients. More than just a product distributor, Ingenia positions itself as a provider of expertise and a true partner.
The acquisition of TWS aligns with this ambition: to bring added value to the services it offers. A historic player in the construction sector in Europe, Eiffage has expanded to become one of the leaders in construction, infrastructure, and concessions, with an international presence and over 70,000 employees spread across different continents. With its technical expertise in construction and commitment to sustainable development, Eiffage significantly contributes to the preservation of water resources, environmental protection, and the improvement of the quality of life in the communities where it operates.
With the divestment of TWS, Eiffage focuses on large-scale infrastructure projects and strengthens strategic ties with Chemco Ltd in the realization of specialized equipment. “We have confidence in the quality of Chemco’s teams and its management to integrate TWS’s teams. We will continue ongoing projects together and take advantage of this period to increase our ability to work together on new opportunities,” confirms Benoît Bazaille, responsible for the TWS divestment operation at Eiffage Génie Civil.
